 Linore Rose Burkard
Linore Rose Burkard grew up in Queens, New York, within sight of Manhattan, and graduated from the City University of New York with a Magna Cum Laude degree in English Literature. A fan of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, it needled her to no end to find that there were no Christian Regency novels available--anywhere. (She became a Christian at the age of eighteen). After waiting for years for such a thing to appear on the shelves, she finally went ahead and wrote the book she wanted to read. Her first novel,Before the Season Ends was the result. The book has received numerous rave reviews, and already boasts a fan following. Ms. Burkard is now working on a few more books in the genre, to make a four or five book series, called, The Regency Light Chronicles.
Six years ago she and her family (her husband and four children, now five children) moved to Ohio, where they all like to swim, watch movies (no TV), play games, and--what else? Read and write!
Ms. Burkard homeschooled her children for ten years, with some intervals of private schooling. Look for her slice-of-life articles on the subject, on this article site, with more coming soon! Today, her children range in age from 3 to 18 years old. Linore says that in addition to writing Regencies she is interested in helping other faith-based writers receive promotion and work together, such as on her project: Revelations: The Textbook Project for which she welcomes manuscripts (info is available on her website)for consideration.
In addition to the above pastimes, Ms. Burkard enjoys gardening (when time allows), decorating, bargain-hunting, and researching the Regency. She is an avid church-goer and also loves to sing in the choir, although she has not been able to do so lately.
